Under the Data Protection Act 1998 the Society for Mucopolysaccharide Diseases is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our members and users while providing a personalised and valuable service. The Society is registered with the Data Protection Commission and adheres to the principles laid down under the Data Protection Act in processing personal data. If, after reading this Data Protection and Personal Privacy Statement you choose to submit personal data, for example, by registering an MPS sufferer, it is deemed that you are thereby giving your consent for that data to be held and processed in accordance with this statement. The data you provide us with will be held securely to enable us to provide support and information in accordance with our aims and objectives. We will not release personal information we hold on you without your express written permission and we will not sell lists to a mailing company. Anonymised data might be used for the purposes of the MPS Registry.

The MPS magazine will be sent to the parent(s) of individuals under the age of 18 and adults over the age of 18 who are not eligible to be on the Electoral Roll.

In the event of parents being separated or divorced please nominate the parent to be the addressee and who will receive a free copy of the MPS magazine and MPS Society correspondence. If the second parent wishes to receive the MPS Magazine s/he should apply to become a Friend of MPS.
