August news

We are delighted to announce that Dr Tom Kenny has been appointed as CEO of MPS Commercial. Sophie from our communications team caught up with him to find out what Tom has planned in his new role.

What are you most excited about as the new CEO of MPS Commercial?

MPS Commercial is sitting on a gold mine of brilliant people, with amazing skills and a deep insight into the needs of people with rare and complex conditions. What is most exciting for me is the sheer magnitude of the potential to do great things for people with rare and complex diseases.

What do you see changing within MPS Commercial under your guidance?

Growth is definitely on the agenda, much of that is about continuing to unlock the potential of the team. Expect to see us growing our research capabilities and delivering a widening range of high quality outputs for MPS Society, patients, experts and our pharmaceutical partners.

How do you see the relationship between the MPS Society and MPS Commercial working in the future?

I see potential structural separation but combined with increased joint working and collaborative projects. I see Bob and I working very closely together so that the correct organisation engages with the right partner for the best outcomes. After all, MPS Commercial only exists to provide benefit to the charity and we can only do that together.

We are the only registered charity providing professional support to individuals and families affected by MPS, Fabry or a related disease in the UK.
