About the Event
This workshop is facilitated by Stephen Johnson, raremindsCIC psychotherapist.
Living with a rare condition is challenging for everyone. It often raises particular issues for men around juggling roles and responsibilities, how to move between carer and partner/parent, and manage different coping strategies or communication styles.
Part presentation, part interactive discussion, this free online workshop is an opportunity to meet with other men. You’ll hear from an experienced male therapist about stresses unique to men, whilst exploring common issues and themes between partners, and parents of those living with rare conditions. Issues such as:
· You said WHAT?!’ understanding different communication styles
· Carer, partner or parent: which role when?
· Managing uncertainty
· Worries about the future
· Juggling roles at home and work
· Recognising stress (and keeping your own needs on the table)
This workshop is open to those who were able to attend the previous Just4Men workshop and would like a 'refresher', or just to build new connections with other men.
There will also be an opportunity to find out more about the MPS Society's new upcoming 8 week Just4Men group.
(NB: Workshops are for over-18s only).
