Keep supporting us

The MPS Society currently supports over 1,500 families across the UK and for these families, the Coronavirus outbreak brings specific challenges and concerns. We want to be here to support everyone through these difficult times and in the future. Like all charities, we anticipate that the outbreak of COVID 19 will have a significant impact on our income. Major events like the London Marathon are being postponed or cancelled and it’s becoming increasingly difficult for our supporters to get out in their local communities to promote our charity and to raise funds for us.

Our priority, as ever, is to the families we support, our team, our volunteers and our supporters. We have therefore put together some useful information for you regarding fundraising and how you, our amazing supporters, can still fundraise for us, but from the comfort of your own home.

MPS Awareness Week

This year, we planned lots of virtual fun in May to celebrate our Awareness Week.

Virtual challenges

VC

We have teamed up with our partner, Run for Charity, to offer you some virtual challenges. Before you know it, you could be running the Inca Trail, the Richmond Park Half Marathon or even climbing Everest!

Head over to their website for more information and to register for one of our brand new virtual challenges.

When you’ve registered, set up a fundraising page (we recommend JustGiving) and you’re off. When you’ve completed your challenge, put your feet up and wait for your lovely medal to be delivered to your door.

Online donations

During these difficult times, we know how hard it is to get out and about in your local community to raise awareness and funds for us, but you can still support us in various ways if you would like to:

  • Make an online donation or set up a regular donation via our website

  • Set up a Facebook fundraiser – a really easy way to raise funds and awareness

  • Request a collection tin from us and start saving some pennies, which you can then send to us later in the year

  • If you’re shopping with Amazon, try to use Amazon Smile and select the MPS Society at your chosen charity. Every time you shop using Amazon Smile, we will receive a small donation which will soon add up

MPS Awareness Week

MAW

Our Awareness Week in May is usually one of our largest events of the year with schools, companies and local communities all getting involved to help us spread awareness of MPS.

This year, we hope to hold a main event later on but we still managed to have some virtual fun in May.

To see what we got up to and how much we raised, please head over to our Awareness Week page.

From everyone at the MPS Society, and from the families we support, thank you. Even if you can’t raise money for us during these difficult times, please keep telling everyone you know about our Society and the great work we do.
