About the Sibs workshops

We are pleased to be able to offer three online workshops for parents and carers which will be delivered by Sibs for UK MPS Society members.

Sibs is the only UK charity for children and adults who are growing up with or have grown up with a disabled brother or sister. You can find out more about Sibs here.

An introduction to supporting siblings of disabled children - parents workshop

This workshop is for parents and carers of someone with MPS, Fabry or a related disease who want to know more about supporting siblings. It will give parents and carers an insight into siblings’ needs and experiences and provide some ideas for giving siblings attention.

In addition to looking at how best parents can support siblings, there will be the opportunity for parents and carers to ask questions.

The workshop will be followed up with handouts and contact details for parents requiring more in-depth help.

An introduction to adult sibling support

This workshop is for adult siblings (aged 18+) of someone with MPS, Fabry or a related diseases who want to meet others who understand what life as a sibling is like. It will give adult siblings an overview of the positives and challenges of being a sibling and give them an opportunity to share sibling tips and advice.

In addition to looking at how best adult siblings can support their siblings, there will be the opportunity for the adult siblings to ask questions.

An introduction to bereaved adult sibling support

This workshop is for adult siblings (aged 18+) whose brother or sister with MPS, Fabry or a related disease has passed away. Whether you’re in your first or 30th year of grieving, all siblings are welcome. You will chat about the shared experiences of bereaved adult siblings and share sibling tips and advice.

In addition to looking at how best adult siblings can support their siblings, there will be the opportunity for the adult siblings to ask questions.

Coming soon - Sibling survey!

We are developing a sibling support programme and we want to make sure that we incorporate all your views into planning future activities and events that will be of interest to you.

We hope that you will take a few minutes to complete the survey and we will let you know when it is available.
